Kantanka is giving other vehicle models in Ghana such as Hyundai, Mitsubishi and Toyota stiff completion regarding reception. Kantanka is the first domestically manufactured vehicle in the country. It is making headway in the market after struggling to attract mass public appeal in the first two years after it was launched.
Kantanka vehicles are tailored to fit and withstand the poor quality roads and harsh weather experienced in Ghana. Analysts believe that the local vehicle manufacturing industry has the potential to become the country’s top foreign exchange revenue earner. However, the industry requires more investments to be able to surpass traditional export industries such as gold, crude oil, and cocoa. The country currently depends on these three industries as the major contributors to economic growth.
